Look out dust bunnies, here we come!

I love Spring. I love the tulips, the return of the robins, the blue skies, the fresh smell in the air, and the fact that I don't have to wear a toque and parka anymore when I go on my evening walks. When I look out my window, I see that nature is quickly washing away all the dull greys of winter and replacing them with the bright colors of spring. Absolutely beautiful!

I wish that nature would automatically do the same thing inside my home LOL! Unfortunately, she is too busy outside and does not make house calls. So we prepare for spring on our own.

Stop giggling. This is not spring cleaning like your grandmother used to spring clean. That kind of cleaning makes me want to run and hide. We are not going to go through your home room by room and tear everything apart. YIKES! We are not going to scrub walls and wash every bit of everything you own. And no, we are not going to boss around any unwilling family members (they are easier ways to get them to help LOL). Spring is too beautiful a season to spend in cleaning torture. We are going to do just a little bit a day. We are going to "spring clean" things that I bet you never thought of. And we are going to get the family to help. Not because they have to, but because they want to (we have our fingers crossed here!).

Spring cleaning is about getting ready for spring. It is about washing away winter blaughs and replacing them with the bright colors of spring. It is about going into parts of your home that hasn't seen too much sunshine during the past few months. It is about hunting down winter dust bunnies. It is about digging out the bicycles, the tennis racquets, and the beach toys. It is about putting tulips on the dining room table and bright towels in the bathroom. It is about making your home safe. It is about fixing things and making sure they last a long time. It is about SHOPPING at home FIRST and discovering all the treasures you already own for spring and summer.
